Mack Benn Elementary Participates in the Great Kindness Challenge

Mack Benn participated in the Great Kindness Challenge and the Magic Wand project.  The whole MBES family got involved.  Staff members got together and surprised their colleagues with “wonderful kind acts” throughout the month!

  • GKC – national anti-bullying campaign that combats bullying by teaching students the importance of being kind. All students were given a checklist of kind acts that they could do on their own individually, at home, in their community or in school.
  • Magic Wand Project – program to encourage students to do kind acts together as a cohesive class room team
  • Kindness Celebration– Celebration with community leaders and partners in attendance. At dismissal students were treated to surprise from various community partners and leaders to celebrate and encourage our students for their kind acts during the month of January.  Members of the NSU Spartan band, Suffolk Sheriff’s department, Suffolk Police department and the Suffolk Fire Department all took part in our celebration of our students.
  • Each grade level wrote/drew a message to their same grade level at another school, encouraging them to do well for the beginning of 2015.
